ONE Simple step to help you teach your child a saving mindset and habit.

We all want our children to grow up financially capable adults completely sorted and in control of their emergency, short, medium and long term savings.

We educate ourselves on how to teach our children HOW to save but for whatever reason, we just can’t seem to gain momentum and only really think about it when the need arises (which is often not the best teachable moment).

Before we discover this one simple step to develop a saving mindset and habit in our children, remember to sign up HERE to receive your MUM’S GUIDE TO A GROWTH AND ABUNDANCE MONEY MINDSET and your FREE FORTNIGHTLY MONEY MINDSET ACTIVITIES FOR YOUR CHILD.

We also know WHY a saving mindset and saving habit is important and necessary, but that doesn’t mean it makes it any easier to actually create, nurture and develop it.

The most important thing is to discover our own relationship with saving. A bit of soul searching and honest Q&A time with ourselves will help us learn about our own money mindset and relationship with money.

So take a few moments now if possible to spend some time on your relationship with saving. Notice how you save or don’t save. What feelings come up for you when you think about saving? Do you try and save but consistently feel like a failure because you just can’t seem to stick to it or even get it going? Do you believe you don’t have enough money to save? Is there always something you need or want before you feel ready to save?

And then do THE ONE SIMPLE STEP as Money Mindful MO says : “save some money before you spend some money”. Once you are doing it, you can show your children exactly how to do it.

Your children are watching how you are with your money and will learn a whole lot more from watching you than listening to what you have to say.
